ALU is a network of world-class tertiary education institutions whose mission is to produce 3 million young African leaders over the next 50 years. ALU’s first campus was inaugurated in September 2015 in Mauritius and is known as African Leadership College. It's second campus was inaugurated in September 2017 in Kigali Heights, Rwanda.
Most universities start speaking to their graduates to think about life after graduation in their final year of the program. It is an unnerving position to be in – asking deep reflective questions about yourself to understand your strengths and interests – and also have to plan for the next step applying for opportunities with little credibility.
At ALU, our students begin their career development journey from day 1, using their 4 years at university to lay the right foundations for their 40 year careers after graduation.
ALC Mauritius is a fully residential campus. Our facilities are a perfect blend of modern and tropical, with fully-equipped dorms overlooking sugarcane fields, not too far from beautiful beaches.
Africa is home to some of the world’s most diverse people within and across its countries, making it a land rich in untapped opportunities. ALU offers an experience designed to address one of the continent’s greatest challenges- accessible education that develops ethical and entrepreneurial leaders. By opening multiple campuses across Africa, we are bringing this world-class education directly to you.
Volunteering is a value addition opportunity for both volunteers and institutions. With this program you have the opportunity to gain experience within the ALU administrative workspace while benefitting from a purposeful professional development structure provided by the study internships department. By both nurturing your professional workspace experience and encouraging an applied voluntary spirit, with this program you are positioned to target your professional growth uniquely before entering the job/entrepreneurial market.
