Ramapo College of New Jersey

History

Established in 1969, the College is committed to academic excellence through interdisciplinary and experiential learning, and international and intercultural understanding.

Education

Ramapo College, which recently was named among CondeNast Traveler’s 50 most beautiful campuses in the country, offers bachelor’s degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences, as well as in professional studies, which include business, elementary education, nursing and social work.

Research

In the spirit of experiential learning, one of its mission pillars, Ramapo College encourages undergraduate students to conduct research that incites intellectual curiosity, promotes independent and collaborative work, enhances critical and creative thinking, and develops expertise in a particular field of study. Students who work closely with faculty on research projects benefit from strong mentorship and from the opportunities that will emerge as they push their intellectual boundaries.

Career

The Cahill Pathways Program helps students develop a rich understanding of the career development process using resources and tools to embrace future possibilities.

Housing services

Ramapo College has demonstrated its strong commitment to providing equal access to all students since the College’s inception in 1969. This commitment extends to all areas of the campus and college experiences including housing. The College’s goal is the total integration of qualified students with disabilities into the college community.

Library services

The Library serves as a gateway to information and promotes intellectual discovery, for the Ramapo community in general and for its undergraduate students in particular, to further the college’s curricular goals for learning, teaching, and research.

Medical services

Student clubs

Fraternity and Sorority membership at Ramapo is a valuable opportunity for personal, intellectual and social development, and our organizations foster these values through promoting scholarship, actively participating in a variety of community service projects and raising money for their national and local philanthropies. Our organizations are advised by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
