Student services

The International Student Services/Study Abroad Office (ISS/SA) assists international students through the application, visa acquisition and arrival process.

As a Parkside student we will continue to offer information and support. We can connect you to campus and community resources and provide you with important information regarding your U.S. immigration rights, responsibilities, and work permissions. We hope that you visit us often.

Housing services

We know it's important that you're comfortable where you live, so our residents can choose from three kinds of living environments

  • Pike River Suites  |   Suites with two to three rooms

Library services

The Library houses a collection of over 356,000 volumes, 11,000 audio visual titles, 972,991 microform pieces, over 100,000 electronic books, and maintains subscriptions to 1200 periodicals. In addition, the Library offers access to over 200 databases; all are available remotely to UW-P faculty, staff and students.

ICT services

The Information Technology Practice Center (ITPC) is a specialty center within the Ralph Jaeschke Solutions for Economic Growth (SEG) Center at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The ITPC is a partnership between UW-Parkside and member business organizations. Students involved in the ITPC work on live information technology projects for customers in the region.

Medical services

University of Wisconsin-Parkside participates in the UW System Campus Consortium Insurance plan and has a mandatory insurance plan for international students. Domestic students are encouraged to purchase plans through private companies or the health insurance marketplace at healthcare.gov

Campus life

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is located in the town of Somers, Kenosha County, minutes from downtown Kenosha and downtown Racine, and about one hour from Milwaukee or Chicago. Here, on our idyllic campus set on 700 acres of natural Wisconsin prairie and woodland, you'll find energetic students making the most of their higher-education experience.

With open spaces like our on-campus 18-hole disc golf course, a diverse variety of student organizations, and our position as a regional center for the performing arts, Parkside is truly a focal point of local, regional and global progress.

Sports facilities

As the only NCAA Division II school in Wisconsin, UWP athletics and the associated Sports and Activity Center exists to serve students, student athletes and the community at large. If you looking for some great sports action, check out one of the many athletics events on campus.

  • The College of Business, Economics, and Computing is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International (AACSB).
  • The chemistry degree program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS).
