The Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (IPLeiria) began its activity in 1980 and is present in the Leiria and West region through its five schools, located in the cities of Leiria (School of Education and Social Sciences, School of Technology and Management and School of Health Sciences), Caldas da Rainha (School of Fine Art and Design) and Peniche (School of Tourism and Maritime Technology).
IPLeiria has programmes in the areas of: Art and Design, Entrepreneurial and Juridical Sciences, Education and Communication, Engineering and Technology, Tourism and Health.

One positive aspect of ESSLei is our close relationship with the professors; they help us immensely, even after we finish the course. Furthermore, the location is very important, as it's situated in a city that, although large, is quite calm and peaceful.
The Polytechnic Of Leiria has a satisfactory infrastructure and good teachers. Specifically the Computer Engineering course purpose students an excellent bases to understand since easy to complex subject in your study field.
I feel like the university had all the resources needed for me to learn about being a marine biologist but, although half the classes are practical, I think we could use a bit more practice outside of the school and in the real world with real working biologists.
