Rider University

History

Founded in 1865 as Trenton Business College, the institution was established to train leaders in the booming, industrialized post-Civil War economy. Today, while Rider still produces some of today’s leading executives, it has also evolved into a diverse, comprehensive university with vibrant and expansive programs in the arts, sciences and education.

Education

71 undergraduate and 28 graduate degree programs in business administration, education, liberal arts, sciences, music, fine and performing arts, counseling, human services and leadership; and 27 undergraduate and graduate certifications.

Research

The Psychology Department encourages students to become involved in research projects. Research programs span all major areas in the curriculum. Many of the projects have been funded by outside sources including the Federal Government and State of New Jersey. A significant level of funding is provided by Rider itself in recognition of the Department's proven track-record of integrating undergraduates into faculty research programs.

Career

Starting in your first year, Rider asks you to begin thinking about and preparing for your future — from résumé building and job search workshops to leadership programs and professional portfolios.
