History
Barry University is a Catholic institution of higher education founded in 1940 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Grounded in the liberal arts tradition, Barry University is a scholarly community committed to the highest academic standards in undergraduate, graduate and professional education.

Student services
The Division of Business Development and Operations has administrative oversight for university operations and auxiliary services, on- and off-campus facilities utilization and the buying, selling and/or leasing of institutional/residential properties. Additionally, the Division focuses on entrepreneurial and business opportunities within the various communities in which Barry University operates.
Housing services
Beyond ambition and evolving career goals, there's a reason so many students return for another degree. They like it here on campus. And who can blame them? You'll learn so much here, in your classes, from your peers, and through on-campus programs. It really is a truly enriching experience.
Library services
The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources. The collection is balanced to meet the research needs of the wide variety of undergraduate through doctoral programs offered at Barry University.
Campus life
Year-round traditions and events create a rhythm for the Barry Life, with the student-run Campus Activities Board (CAB) keeping the roster fresh. These shared experiences connect us together even further – linking us to our history, inspiring us to greatness, or, sometimes, just giving us an excuse to have a great time together.
Sports facilities
Barry University is serious about athletics. We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men’s baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women’s basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
Student clubs
The R. Kirk Landon Student Union is the community center of the university, providing an environment that supports the mission and values of the institution through programs and services that meet the needs of our diverse campus population. As a student-centered organization, the student union facilitates co-curricular programs and services that encourage self-realization, personal growth, and an appreciation for diverse cultures, perspectives, and people.
Accreditation
Barry University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, specialist and doctoral degrees.

Excited to Begin My Journey at Barry University!
I am thrilled to start my program at Barry University in January 2025. The application process was smooth, and I received my admission letter promptly. Meeting with my advisor and completing the registration process was seamless. I look forward to an enriching academic experience!
