  • The reason Butler grads are so successful is our dedication to doing things the right way.

History

Butler University is a liberal arts school with a history of doing things differently. In 1855, attorney and abolitionist Ovid Butler opened a school founded on the principle that everyone deserves an excellent education, regardless of race or gender—a bold idea in pre-Civil-War America.

Education

A Butler education will transform you. It will also transform to fit you. Here, you’ll be able to tailor your studies, your activities, your research, and your service-learning to the subjects, ideas, and career fields you’re really interested in. Add the close-knit community of staff, faculty, and friends who will support you, and you’ll be primed to do your very best work.

Research

Butler University is responsible for the integrity of research conducted at the University. As a community of scholars, in which truth and integrity are fundamental, the University must establish procedures for the investigation of allegations of misconduct of research with due care to protect the rights of those accused, those making the allegations, and Butler University. Furthermore, federal regulations require the University to have explicit procedures for addressing incidents in which there are allegations of misconduct in research.

Career

The Career and Professional Success (CaPS) office is committed to the safety of students, faculty, staff, employers, and recruiters.

Student services

The Help Desk provides a single point of contact for the technology needs of Butler students, faculty, and staff. The Help Desk provides self service, phone, email, and walk-in support for a variety of technology services. The Help Desk does not support faculty or staff personal or home computers.

The Help Desk aims to provide excellent service to each and every user. This can cause hold times on the phone to be lengthy. Using self service or email for non urgent requests and issues will prevent users from having to wait on the phone.

  • The Residence Life Office is responsible for promoting and maintaining an environment on campus where students are free to develop academically and socially. Developing a sense of personal and communal responsibility and respecting the rights of others also is an important part of this program.
