Founded in 1860, Augustana is a selective, comprehensive university affiliated with the Lutheran Church.

With more than 100 majors, minors and pre-professional programs for undergraduates, along with graduate degree and continuing education programs, the University is committed to enriching lives and fostering development by combining a foundation in the liberal arts with professional skill and advanced study.

We empower students to discover and achieve their academic and professional goals from the point of entry to graduation and beyond. By partnering with faculty and other campus offices, we provide the support students need to make the most of their college experience.

Housing services
The Student Success Center provides reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities upon request. Students must self-disclose to receive services, which is voluntary.
Library services
The original library structure was built in 1954 as a result of the support of students, faculty, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and Sioux Falls community. The library was named in memory of Amund Mikkelsen, the “pioneer president” of the Lutheran Normal School (Sneen). In 1980, the library was doubled in size with an addition.

The ITS Computer Help Desk is the place to start for your computer, network and printer questions.
Medical services
Sanford Health Campus Clinic is Augustana’s health service provider. Services provided include acute care services, laboratory testing, and immunizations.

While you're here, you'll tour our beautiful and ever-changing 100-acre campus, observe students and faculty engaged in classrooms and labs, sample the social scene in the Commons, and be greeted along the way by members of the campus community.
Sports facilities
The Sport Club Program at Augustana is part of the Recreational Services Department. A Sport Club is defined as a registered student organization that may provide a program of instruction, recreation, and/or competition in a specific sport. Sport Clubs assume a variety of types and sizes in order to meet many of the sport needs and interests of students, faculty, and staff.

Student clubs
Clubs and organizations range from student government to volunteer service clubs, from honor societies to faith organizations. Your schedule will be jam-packed with things to do because students take an active role in planning activities and bringing nationally prominent performers and lecturers to campus.
