History
The story of the University of Indianapolis, which was founded in 1902, is closely tied to its surrounding University Heights neighborhood. The two grew from infancy together, and UIndy's commitment to its neighborhood remains strong to this day.
Education

Research
The Summer Research Institute for 2017 is now accepting applications. The Institute is designed to give students and their faculty mentors the opportunity to work on their scholastic endeavors for three weeks during Spring Term in May. This is an excellent opportunity for students to engage in cutting-edge research that they intend to continue the following academic year, including work for academic credit and Honors theses after completion of the SRI.
Career
- UIndy produces more physical therapists, occupational therapists, and clinical psychologists than any other university in the state and offers the state's only neonatal nurse practitioner program

Student services
The University is governed by a Board of Trustees that includes the resident bishop of the Indiana Area United Methodist Church, the president of the University and the president of the Alumni Association as ex officio members. The Board sets policy and goals, oversees the University’s finances, approves academic programs and authorizes the awarding of degrees.
Housing services
All residence halls have free laundry facilities, free parking, common areas, kitchenettes, ice and vending machines, and front desk staff. All rooms are equipped with dressers, desks, desk chairs, and beds for each student along with wireless internet access and heating and cooling units. Library services
The Library will continue to offer all of our services remotely. The library staff have made arrangements to provide high quality assistance and access to resources throughout this difficult time.
Core services, such as access to databases, reference consultations, library instruction, and interlibrary loan are all available remotely.
ICT services
UIndy Information Technology provides leadership, development, and support for UIndy’s technology systems. The departments within Information Technology include the Help Desk; Enterprise Applications and Development; Technology Planning and Acquisitions; Network, Systems and Security; and Telecommunications.
Campus life
We believe living in a residence hall has certain advantages over off-campus living:

- There's a set cost, including meals.

Sports facilities
As a Division II school, UIndy offers athletic scholarships and competitive sports. We have 23 NCAA Division II teams, 17 of which advanced to NCAA postseason play in 2018-19. Our Hounds brought home 79 individual All-America honors last year, and 10 teams were ranked in the top 20 nationally. As one of the best athletic programs in the country, UIndy has won eight consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference All-Sports Trophies and has finished in the top 20 in Division II in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup in each of the last 13 years.
