University of Dallas

History

Opened in 1956 through the stimulus of the Sisters of Saint Mary of Namur and a group of dedicated lay people in partnership with the Diocese of Dallas, the University of Dallas is a Catholic institution welcoming students of all faiths.

Education

The University of Dallas offers 30 undergraduate majors, more than 20 graduate programs and a wide range of graduate and noncredit certificate programs across four main academic divisions in the arts, humanities, sciences, education, business and nursing.

Career

OPCD seeks to prepare you (students and graduates) to achieve success in your professional life. We can help you as you discern opportunities, grow your skills through experience, and achieve your vocational goals.

Housing services

The University of Dallas has seven undergraduate residence halls - six 'traditional-style' halls for new students and one suite-style hall for upperclassmen still under the residency requirement. Five of the traditional halls are two floors, with common hallways on each floor, common bathroom and shower facilities on each floor, a lounge/TV area and a laundry room with washers and dryers.

All freshmen living on campus are placed in traditional hall double rooms with a freshman roommate. All traditional hall double rooms have standard twin-size beds, desks, and closet and drawer space for each resident. Traditional hall rooms have sinks with storage space underneath, a medicine cabinet, and limited book shelving.

Library services

The University of Dallas is a Catholic University committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and Catholic values, where students are strengthened for lives of purpose, service, and leadership. It is our goal in the Library to uphold this mission by providing our faculty, students, staff and community partners with the best possible access to knowledge.

Medical services

The University of Dallas Health Services and Counseling Services assist students with medical needs and with personal, emotional or adjustment difficulties.
