Pittsburg State University was founded in 1903, in vibrant and progressive southeast Kansas. Home to nearly 6,500 students, PSU provides all the benefits of a major college but with small class sizes and personalized experiences.
Pittsburg State’s academic programs are contained within four distinct colleges, each of which offer a variety of hands-on, interactive education opportunities.
PSU Research and Grants Administration seeks to enhance discovery and research at Pittsburg State University by assisting faculty, staff and students in developing research activities, searching for external funding opportunities and assisting with the development and submission of funding proposals. PSU Research and Grants Administration also provides research integrity administration including the protection of human research subjects approval process and the investigation of research integrity violations.
The mission statement of the Office of Career Services is to proactively educate students and alumni to make informed career decisions and provide them with assessment, counseling, career courses, resources, along with consultation and employment-related service necessary to optimize their lifespan career development; to network with employers to generate leads; and to support institutionalized outcomes through employment data collection.
Student Government Association - We serve the student body of Pittsburg State University on a campus-wide level by voicing the concerns and issues that impact students to administrators and faculty and represent our students on a state-wide level as well through efforts such as lobbying in Topeka at the Capitol as well as at the monthly Kansas Board of Regents meetings.
Pittsburg State offers traditional, apartment and suite-style living options. Rooms are furnished with beds, desks and chairs, chests, and wardrobes. Amenities include parking pass, all utility costs, laundry facilities, kitchen access, high-speed wireless internet, and secured access. Cleaning services for bathrooms and common areas are also provided for most units.

The main campus of Pittsburg State University is in many ways a community in and of itself. Along with our gorgeous, historic academic buildings, our campus also boasts some of the nation’s premier facilities for athletics, recreation, fitness, and the arts. The recently-expanded Overman Student Center also provides a variety of dining and shopping options for students and the community.
