History

The University of Wisconsin-River Falls was founded in 1874 as the fourth State Normal School in Wisconsin and the first in the northwestern part of the state. Its first building was dedicated on Sept. 2, 1875.

Research

The River Falls Area Research Center (ARC) is one of fourteen research facilities in a statewide network coordinated by the Wisconsin Historical Society in partnership with the University of Wisconsin System. The River Falls ARC provides students, faculty, and the general public regional access to historical materials, local government records, manuscripts, and special collections from four northwestern Wisconsin counties: Burnett, Pierce, Polk, and Saint Croix.

Housing services

The University of Wisconsin–River Falls is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to permit employees, students and visitors access to employment, programs, activities and facilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA is a national mandate that requires UW–River Falls to provide reasonable access to all of its facilities, programs, and services to people with disabilities. 

Library services

Built in 1954, the Chalmer Davee Library is an excellent place study, work on projects and do research. In the upper level you have access to research materials and computers, leisure reading sections, quiet study areas and group meeting rooms.

ICT services

The circulation desk provides 24-hour laptop rentals for students. The Academic Success Center, Division of Technology Services, University Archives and the Area Research Center are all located in the lower level of the Chalmer Davee Library. 

Medical services

Student Health Services enhances students' health by providing basic health services, access to information and resources, advocacy for campus health policies, and prevention focused programming so that students can successfully pursue their academic, personal, and professional endeavors.
