History

In 1917 Harry C. Bentley opens the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in the Huntington Chambers building at 30 Huntington Avenue in Boston. The first class becomes known as the Bentley Associates.

Student services

The Bentley Student Government Association (SGA) is a governing body that tries to better the university environment for all students. This is achieved through a collaborative effort between the students and university administration. Members of SGA seek out the interests and opinions of the student body as a whole and make recommendations to university officials based on their findings.

  • Trees Complex - Most rooms are double occupancy, but there are limited single- and triple-occupancy rooms within the complex. There are gender-specific bathrooms throughout the building as well as individual gender neutral bathrooms on the first floor.
  • Miller Hall houses first-year students and is entirely co-ed. Most rooms are double occupancy, but there are limited single-, triple-, and quad-occupancy rooms. 
  • Slade Hall houses - Most rooms are double occupancy, but there are limited single-, triple-, and quad-occupancy rooms.

Medical services

The Health Center is available for appointments by calling the office. We are unable to provide walk in visits for the health and safety of our campus. Please call Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may email us questions that are related to administrative concerns such as vaccinations, routine health inquiries or public health questions at ga_healthcenter@bentley.edu. 

Campus life

  • In 1968, Bentley moved from downtown Boston to Waltham, Massachusetts, to accommodate an increasing number of students. The first buildings on the Waltham campus were built between 1965 and 1968. Today, the campus stretches across 163 acres (0.66 km2) of land, and is accessible by the MBTA 554 bus.
  • Bentley University's campus is divided into three parts: Upper Campus, Lower Campus and North Campus.

Sports facilities

  • The Bentley Arena is the first standalone ice arena in the country to receive LEED platinum certification. Bentley’s Division I hockey program plays here and students use the facility as a “living lab” for academic projects on everything from data analysis to marketing and sales.
  • The Dana Athletic Center has everything you need to play, practice and stay in shape. The facility is equipped for a wide range of sports and interests, from basketball courts to batting cages, dance studios to saunas, swimming and diving pools—and more.
