History
In 1909, Edith Lesley began a school to train teachers. Her progressive ideas paved the way for Lesley University, and her legacy inspires our mission today.
Education
Lesley University engages students in transformative education through active learning, scholarly research, diverse forms of artistic expression, and the integration of rigorous academics with practical, professional experience, leading to meaningful careers and continuing lifelong learning.
Career
Internships and field placements are the hallmark of a Lesley University education. These hands-on experiences begin as early as your first year, and vary by major and program. But no matter what you study or where you intern, you’ll graduate with real-world training, a knockout résumé, and a network of envy-inducing professional contacts.
Housing services
Each residence hall has its own unique culture. Whether students live in a modern-day high-rise building or housing that looks like a Victorian cottage, they will be an integral part of student life at Lesley. In addition to this, they will be just steps away from food, entertainment, and culture.
Medical services
Students receive access to Lesley’s student support services such as academic tutoring, healthcare, career services, and more.
Campus life
Located right in the heart of Cambridge—the epicenter of all things higher education—our campus is a reminder that you’re part of a greater community.
Whether you’re living on campus, commuting, or visiting once a year as a low-residency student, you’re an integral part of the student life and culture at Lesley.
Accreditation
Lesley University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Many individual programs are also accredited or endorsed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and other organizations.
