Since 1885, we at Springfield College have had a singular focus on educating students—in spirit, mind, and body—for leadership in service to others. We call it our Humanics philosophy. The world has changed since 1885, and we have, too. New academic programs, renovations, construction, and other major developments have ensured that we remain relevant to today’s students and society.
Springfield College offers 47 undergraduate majors in a wide range of human-helping professions. Our majors blend traditional coursework with experiential learning such as internships, fieldwork, student teaching, and practicums. The blend of classroom and real-world experience is what provides our students with skills, knowledge, insight, and networks to achieve their career goals upon graduation.
Students from all programs and schools are encouraged to work with the Career Center staff as early as their first year. The experienced staff is committed to student learning and development, and offers a variety of opportunities for students and alumni. The services provided by the Career Center are free of charge, and are available to students during their time at Springfield College, and long after they’ve graduated.
The Student Government Association (SGA) promotes the interests and welfare of the student body and guides and finances more than 50 registered student organizations. Managed by elected students, SGA approves funding for active student organizations, adopts policies effecting students, and serves as a liaison between students and the College administration.
