About

History

Founded in 1846, Taylor University is a coeducational, non-denominational Christian liberal arts college where faith, living and learning are integrated.

Education

Global engagement and service is at the core of the Taylor experience. This year, 460 students earned credit while participating in 32 programs in 34 countries. Students also earned credit in service-learning or cross-cultural programs as short-term missionaries to U.S. cities. In the latest Open Doors survey, Taylor University ranked #2 in the nation for undergraduate participation in study abroad for baccalaureate colleges.

Research

The Calling and Career Office features a blended approach of reaching students where they are (in residence halls and classrooms and through clubs and activities) and provides services that attract students to our office .

Career

Taylor University accomplishes its mission by attracting to its community a quality staff and faculty who, above all else, are committed by professing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and by serving under His authority. In turn, everyone who comes to Taylor takes an active and comprehensive role in developing students spiritually, emotionally, and of course, academically—it is truly a discipleship process.

Services

Student services

Taylor exists to provide an uplifting, faith-centered learning establishment for students to thrive academically and spiritually. And we recognize the transition to life at Taylor can bring questions and a need for support. Taylor has many offices and departments whose primary goal is to assist you. Ranging from academic to counseling to technology services, be assured that you can reach out to any of the following departments for assistance.

Housing services

Even though Taylor hosts students from 32 different countries—students who all have different backgrounds and experiences—they all have two important things in common: a relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to live out their faith in community.

Library services

The Zondervan Library at Taylor University makes its resources available to all Upland and Eastbrook area residents. While the Library’s primary mission is to serve Taylor students, faculty, and staff, local residents are welcome to use its information resources comprised of over 160,000 books, bound periodicals, DVDs, and CDs, and select electronic resources.

ICT services

  • We provide free WiFi, SMART classrooms, outdoor sound equipment, and onsite A/V staff.
  • Trained technical support staff is available to assist with set-up and provide assistance with events that require reliable technology.
  • Taylor University offers guests complimentary fast, reliable, campus-wide wireless internet access.

Medical services

As you might imagine, the recent health care change conversations (commonly called PPACA- Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act) have greatly affected Taylor University and her students. One such area of change is in student insurance.

Student Life

Campus life

Through weekly chapel services, faculty mentorship, and peer fellowship, we hope our students have the opportunity to engage in an intercultural environment, support and disciple one another as Christ’s image-bearers, encounter new perspectives, engage in hard conversations, and feel valued and challenged to think deeper in all aspects of life.

Students can also step outside of their comfort zones by serving in our many outreach programs, reaching people from Taylor to Thailand. By serving alongside members of the Taylor community and local churches, our students can expand their understanding of the global church body and gain diverse insight into prevalent cultural issues.

Sports facilities

Taylor’s Kesler Student Activities Center (KSAC) provides an outstanding venue for the physical side of whole-person development. The KSAC is one of the finest recreational centers in the area. Its four main features—The Well, fieldhouse, Eichling Aquatics Wing and the aerobics room—offer Taylor University and the surrounding community an excellent outlet for physical activity and leisurely recreation.

With great equipment and facilities, the KSAC meets students’ needs for a range of everything from recreational to intensive physical activity. It offers space for casual games and personal fitness goals, while also allowing athletic teams to pursue excellence in practice and training year-round.

Student clubs

Taylor has numerous activities and organizations for you to get involved in, whether you’re organizing, participating, or spectating.

Whether you’re discussing the artistic merit of the latest film, dancing and lip-syncing to a mash-up of pop songs, or getting involved in athletics, our student-led activities and organizations will keep you busy the whole time you’re here.

Accreditation

Taylor University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The virtual campus is also affiliated with the Association of Christian Continuing Education Schools and Seminaries as well as the Indiana College Network.
