University of Michigan–Dearborn

We hail from every corner of the region, state, nation and world, coming together to shape leaders who address the complex challenges facing southeast Michigan and beyond. We prepare students to be Difference Makers in industry and in the community. And we’re addressing challenges to the region head-on through pioneering research, strategic partnerships and civic engagement.

University of Michigan-Dearborn was founded in 1959 with a gift of just over 200 acres of land and $6.5 million from the Ford Motor Co. Junior, senior and first-year graduate students enrolled in three degree programs: Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.

Choose from bachelor’s degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences, engineering, health and human services, business and education. Broaden your study by pursuing a double major or minor. Sharpen your skills in a co-op or internship. Or apply for our competitive honors program which offers even smaller classes, strong ties to faculty and project-based learning with other creative, committed students. Your education is yours to tailor. At UM-Dearborn, we give you the tools to succeed.

Both undergraduate and graduate students are able to work closely with faculty on critical, socially relevant research. Applied research is in our DNA. Our business and community partners rely on us to help generate real knowledge and real solutions. These projects allow you to get your hands and minds deep into real problems and learn through practice.

Career Services works to increase the success of our diverse students and constituents through career exploration, career planning, employment preparation, and job search skills. As a conduit for campus partners, we facilitate connections between our office, employers, community, students, and alumni.
