Founded in 1855 as the Paterson City Normal School, William Paterson University began as a teacher-training institution. Over time, it expanded programs, relocated to Wayne, and evolved into a comprehensive public university. Renamed William Paterson University of New Jersey in 1997, it now offers diverse undergraduate and graduate degrees and is recognized for excellence and community engagement.
William Paterson University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate academic programmes through four colleges: Arts and Communication, Cotsakos College of Business, Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Health.The University offers 150+ programmes which includes, Bachelor, Master, Phd & certificate programs. Certification is available in early childhood, elementary, secondary, and special education. There are also pre-professional programmes in law, medicine (dentistry, optometry, podiatry, and veterinary science), physical therapy, and physician assistant.

William Paterson University provides wireless access into its computing resources utilizing Cisco Aironet wireless equipment. This equipment support all wireless access radios (A,B,G,N) and it utilizes Cisco Clean Access authentication to secure all access.
The mission of the Health and Wellness component of the Counseling, Health and Wellness Center is to provide a welcoming environment for William Paterson University students. The Health and Wellness Center staff members provide care for students who are ill or injured. Through health-related counseling and education, we support students' efforts to maintain their physical and emotional well-being.

The facility features three full-sized basketball courts inside the playing area, allowing for multiple practice areas for the three programs, as well as ample space for intramural sports. Center court is used for all home Athletics contests, and features a high-quality playing surface with a WP logo at mid-court. The facility also includes four racquetball courts, free weights, resistance machines for strength training, cardio-vascular and boxing equipment, as well as a multi-purpose room. Numerous other WP intercollegiate athletics teams take advantage of the facility's amenities, including the baseball and softball programs for preseason winter workouts.
The Student Government Association and the Office of Campus Activities, Service & Leadership recognize clubs and organizations at William Paterson University. The SGA supports many student academic, social, cultural, and sports clubs and media groups.

Being able to take this online course is great because you can go at your own pace and organize your own schedule; this works perfectly for balancing it with a job
I have had a great study experience with William Paterson. They do a great job at keeping in touch even when it is online. My professors were very involved and always there to answer questions and get everyone involved.
