Mount Royal University

History

  • Our facilities and programs have expanded greatly since our 1910 founding, but our purpose remains the same - to provide personalized learning that fosters the success and satisfaction of our students.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degrees are four-year university-level academic programs which include a combination of courses specific to the degree topic. Most Mount Royal bachelor’s degrees include General Education courses which provide exposure to a range of ideas and academics through electives that you choose.
  • A bachelor’s degree may include hands-on learning such as Co-operative Education, practica or an internship. Upon graduation, you will be prepared for the workforce or to continue your studies at professional or graduate school.

Research

The Office of Research, Scholarship and Community Engagement (ORSCE) is dedicated to helping research and scholarly activity from beginning to end. The ORSCE office motto for researchers is "see us early, see us often".

Some of our activities include:

  • Assisting with the development of research ideas
  • Providing information on sources of project funding
  • Improving grant application success through support from internal and external experts
  • Facilitating collaborative and interdisciplinary programs of research
  • Administering grants and awards
  • Overseeing and supporting a diverse collection of scholarly institutes
  • Communicating and celebrating research and scholarship of the MRU community.

  • Career Services provides opportunities for students to clarify, experience and achieve their career and employment goals.

Student services

University is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming and leave you with lots of questions. We’re here to help you realize your full academic and personal potential at Mount Royal.

What we do:

  • We are here to help students learn what is available on campus to support them, and help them navigate these resources.
  • We work closely with staff and faculty to better understand our students and how to help them be successful.

Housing services

  • Mount Royal Residence is intended for single students in any number of classes.
  • We have two residence complexes - West Residence and East Residence - designed for independent student living. Combined, they accommodate about 1,000 students.
  • Our residences are available in either apartment or townhouses units - no cramped dorms here! All residents have private, lockable bedrooms and share living rooms and kitchens with their unit mates.

Library services

  • The Riddell Library and Learning Centre has so much more than books. It is a transformational learning and research environment that brings together students, expert faculty and staff, and a wide range of technology and resources.
