Alliant International University prepares students for professional careers of service and leadership, and promotes the discovery and application of knowledge to improve the lives of people in diverse cultures and communities around the world.
Alliant International University Distance Learning Courses
In 2001, USIU and CSPP merged, forming Alliant with San Francisco Law School (SFLS) joining in 2010. From 1909 through today, one constant remains: We specialize in preparing students for careers of impact through our model of academic rigor paired with hands-on training.
Education
Alliant’s educational programs are designed to give students the knowledge, skills, and ethical values they need to serve and lead effectively in a variety of professional settings. Alliant graduates are expected to achieve mastery of a body of knowledge and be able to apply that knowledge in professional practice in order to achieve desired, and beneficial outcomes.
Research
CSPP is the home of several interdisciplinary research institutes, each of which is focused on an area of urgent importance. Students have the opportunity to participate in the activities of these institutes and, through them, to work with faculty from across the Alliant system.
You can search the topics of CSPP’s graduate research from the Alliant library page. Some students work on their doctoral research in research clusters with faculty; others choose to explore an area of their own interest, often related to an academic emphasis.

A mixed experience after institutional changes
Not a bad experience overall, but much has changed since it switched to a Benefits Corporation. The academic staff was incredible when I was a full-time student, though much of the faculty has changed now. Regardless, I have always had great dissertation chairs. I knocked off one star for campus facilities since it is quite small compared to my undergraduate, though that may not be a fair basis for comparison. One star off for administrative staff due to consensus among a few students that it can be hard to work with SERC (the Student Evaluation and Review Committee) and I have not heard good things about the accessibility accommodation services.

Urban clinical PsyD strength
A strong clinical psychology program, especially for a professional school. This is a graduate school only, there are no undergraduate courses. Also the campus is not a place you spend time, it's for classes only. You live in the city off campus and having a car is essential.

Intense Work
It is an overall great school to complete your program by it is incredibly intense work while also trying to manage a life outside of academia. As a low income minority student and a first gen it is apparent that this school can be challenging if you are not prepared to do extensive work and also expected to have other responsibilities that will increase your credible reputation in your field. It is also recommended that you network well on campus for better opportunities.
