History

Mississippi College traces its roots back to 1826 when the institution was chartered by the state Legislature as Hampstead Academy. The same year, America celebrated its 50th birthday and John Quincy Adams served as president of a growing nation with a little more than 9.6 million people. Mississippi College remains the oldest institution of higher learning in the Magnolia State.

Education

Mississippi College offers more than 80 undergraduate major, over 50 graduate areas of study, two doctoral programs, a law school, and the state’s only Physician Assistant program.

The Office of Career Services provides resources to help students prepare for job searches and find fulfilling careers based upon their individual strengths.

To provide a safe, Christ-like environment that empowers our students to continually grow spiritually, personally, and academically. We strive to create a home for all our students where they can connect with each other, the university, and the greater Christian community.

Library services

The primary mission of Leland Speed Library is to provide services and resources to support the present and future educational and informational needs of the Mississippi College community.The library provides instruction and assistance in the effective use of information, a variety of resources to support the university's academic program, and access to information resources worldwide.

ICT services

Located in B.C. Rogers Student Center, the staff of Computers Services are here to help you with your computing and networking needs.

Medical services

Student health services are provided through the Mississippi Baptist Health Systems, Inc. at the Baptist Healthplex, located on the Mississippi College Clinton campus. Routine health care services from the Nurse Practitioner and Baptist Health Systems Clinic are provided free of charge to all registered, full-time Mississippi College students who have paid the fixed fee.

Campus life

Housing Sign-Up allows students to choose their rooms and roommates for the academic year. When sign-up begins, you’ll be able to go online and see which rooms are available in each building, floor by floor.

Sports facilities

Since 1997, Baptist Healthplex at Mississippi College has served as the leading provider of health and fitness to the Clinton community and surrounding areas as well as Mississippi College faculty, staff, and students.  Our unique partnership with Baptist Health Systems and Mississippi College has presented us the opportunity to serve a diverse population of people with our family-friendly services and fitness programs that fit everyone’s lifestyle.

Student clubs

With more than 50 chartered student organizations, ranging from academic societies to campus ministries, MC offers ways for everyone to get involved.

Mississippi College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, education specialists, and doctorates.
