History
Founded in 1915 by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the University serves men and women from a variety of backgrounds and religions.
Education
Marywood's programs are administered through three degree-granting colleges. Undergraduate degrees are offered in a variety of academic programs, including the arts, sciences, music, fine arts, social work, and nursing. All students are required to complete a core curriculum in the liberal arts in addition to the courses in their major. Opportunities for undergraduates abound through double majors, honors and independent study programs, practicums, internships, and study abroad. Army and Air Force ROTC programs are also available.
Research
Research and Sponsored Programs, under the direction of Diane W. Keller, Ph.D., Assistant to the Provost for Research and Sponsored Programs, is responsible for Academic Affairs grants and contracts (sponsored programs) initiated by or to be managed by faculty, academic departments, colleges, centers, or institutes. Each sponsored program is conducted within a framework of regulations, policies, and procedures, including sponsor policies, university policies, and departmental and collegiate guidelines.
Career
The mission of the Career Development Center is to support the Enrollment Services and Student Success mission and the University’s academic mission of educating men and women of all ages in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs.
