The school opened in 1898 under the guidance of a young educator and anthropologist, Dr. Edgar Lee Hewett, who was to take a prominent place in New Mexico history as founder of both the Museum of New Mexico and the Institute of American Archaeology in Santa Fe.

At UMSNH, you have the opportunity to become a successful professional, but nothing is handed to you on a silver platter. There are universities in Morelia and other parts of Michoac�n where students are guaranteed to pass the semester, like Montrer (the worst of them all), but at UMSNH, students must take a proactive role to ensure their academic experience guarantees their professional future.
Online campus has great instructors and a quality accredited MSW program! I would tell students that the classes are challenging but fair professors who grade fairly. Projects are beneficial for learning and assist with learning all areas of social work. The generalist MSW program is a good way to be a well-rounded and informed social worker.
