History
ORU was founded by Oral Roberts in 1963 upon the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of scripture. God gave the following commission to Oral Roberts and it has remained the University's vision ever since.
Education
Our mission is to develop Holy Spirit-empowered leaders through whole person education to impact the world.
Research
Participate in cancer research, work with our state-of-the-art supercomputer, present business ideas to trend-setting entrepreneurs in our ONEOK Shark Tank, or train in our newly upgraded and technologically advanced Nursing Simulation Labs.
Housing services
Residents are within walking distance of the library, classroom buildings, University Center, dining options, and Recreation Center.On-campus housing provides students the flexibility of coming back to their room between classes and activities to do homework, relax, or grab something to eat.Students can get to their early morning classes without fighting traffic, and participate in late-night study groups at the library without concern about the drive home.
Library services
The ORU Library promotes learning by connecting users to the knowledge they seek by acquiring the resources that fit our curriculum and faculty research.
Medical services
A Registered Nurse is on-duty full time to administer services such as care and dressing of minor injuries, consultation concerning medical problems, dispensing non-prescription medication for minor illnesses and to answer questions concerning immunization requirements for students.
A list of local clinics and urgent care facilities is available in the Student Health office.

In addition to meeting people from a variety of different backgrounds and experiences, you will have unique opportunities to be involved in your community that will sharpen your character and build on your passions to serve Christ. Student clubs
We are a student-fueled organization designed for all ORU students so that they may take an active and meaningful role in both connecting with Holy Spirit-empowered leaders and in promoting the founding purpose of the university. We are experts in clubs, organizations, Intramurals, events, community building, and experience enhancing.

Oral Roberts University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Oral Roberts University is recognized by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The Graduate School of Business is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

It's a great Christian school. I have learnt so much from the personal experiences of my professors regarding my course. Enrollment counselors and academic advisors show genuine concern and care for students. Courses are well taught and relatable. It's a great place to make lasting relationships, excell both spiritually (mature in your walk with God) and academically. Everything is tailored towards developing you as a whole.
