ORU was founded by Oral Roberts in 1963 upon the power of the Holy Spirit and the authority of scripture. God gave the following commission to Oral Roberts and it has remained the University's vision ever since.

Participate in cancer research, work with our state-of-the-art supercomputer, present business ideas to trend-setting entrepreneurs in our ONEOK Shark Tank, or train in our newly upgraded and technologically advanced Nursing Simulation Labs.
Residents are within walking distance of the library, classroom buildings, University Center, dining options, and Recreation Center.On-campus housing provides students the flexibility of coming back to their room between classes and activities to do homework, relax, or grab something to eat.Students can get to their early morning classes without fighting traffic, and participate in late-night study groups at the library without concern about the drive home.
The ORU Library promotes learning by connecting users to the knowledge they seek by acquiring the resources that fit our curriculum and faculty research.
A Registered Nurse is on-duty full time to administer services such as care and dressing of minor injuries, consultation concerning medical problems, dispensing non-prescription medication for minor illnesses and to answer questions concerning immunization requirements for students.
