Medical services

Bridgewater’s Student Health Center, Counseling Center, and Wellness Programming take a holistic approach to student wellbeing. We strive to empower students to become more responsible and proactive in their own physical, emotional, and social health.

Campus life

From hanging out with your roommate, studying with a group of friends, to sharing opinions in late-night debates. There are so many opportunities to grow socially, intellectually and spiritually!

Students live on campus (with limited exceptions). You’ll find support from our professional staff and student resident advisors (RAs) who oversee the residential areas. You will feel safe and comfortable in our inviting and close-knit community.

Sports facilities

The Funkhouser Center for Health and Wellness is just steps away from the campus' residence halls, and is open to all students. It serves as the home for Bridgewater's intramurals program.

The Center includes three basketball courts, two volleyball courts, a fitness center, an indoor track, an aerobics/dance room and two racketball courts.

At "The Funk" try out treadmills, elliptical cross trainers and stationary bicycles. Take a yoga, cycling or turbo kick class. Build strength using free weights or selectorized weight machines.

Student clubs

College is more than classes and group study sessions. It’s the perfect time to try something new. Sing in a choir. Plan events with Eagle Productions. Discover other cultures in the International Club. Build a house with Habitat for Humanity.

Experiences outside the classroom are an important part of your education. Join a club or group that matches your interests. Or venture beyond your comfort zone. You’ll become more well-rounded. More aware. More interesting.

Accreditation

Bridgewater College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award degrees at the baccalaureate and master's level. Bridgewater College is also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) . Bridgewater College is also accredited by the State Board of Education of Virginia and offers a state-approved program of teacher education.
