Student services

The Wick S. Sharp Learning Center, located at Misenheimer campus, offers academic and support services to help students achieve success in college. 

Services are designed to help students ease the transition to college life and manage the demands of a university curriculum. With guidance from Learning Center staff, students identify effective approaches to studying and, if necessary, sharpen writing skills, enhance reading comprehension and learn to manage anxiety to improve overall academic performance.

Housing services

Because we want you to feel comfortable, our Residence Life team strives to make your transition to college as seamless as possible. As an on-campus resident, you have the opportunity to live in a community with your peers within walking distance to all Pfeiffer resources, accessible to campus and community events.

Residence halls are split into quads, each of which is staffed with Residence Assistants who help you settle in, find resources and establish harmonious living arrangements with other students.

Library services

The G.A. Pfeiffer Library is a comfortable space in which to study and meet with fellow students. Discover the extensive available resources to support research, teaching and learning.

Medical services

Medical services on campus are provided by a licensed nurse practitioner affiliated with Carolinas Health Care.

The Health Services office, located in Stokes Student Center, is open Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Students are asked to call to schedule an appointment when possible; walk-ins will be seen as available. Proof of insurance is required.

Campus life

Approximately half of all Pfeiffer students are enrolled at our traditional undergraduate campus in Misenheimer, North Carolina. Nestled in a scenic, historic town near Morrow Mountain State Park, our unique campus accommodates a thriving community of engaged learners where career exploration is supported and encouraged.

Sports facilities

  • Exercise regularly through play days, intramural sports, participation on sports teams or workouts in the fitness center.
  • Eat healthfully through our dining hall meal plan options, and Sodexo’s Mindful Eating wellness program.
  • Access health services as needed from an on-campus nurse practitioner.
  • Manage stress through walks by Gibson Lake on the wooded paths or relaxation on the campus grounds.
  • Take a yoga or tai chi class, bulk up in the gym or use the pool to find your ideal form of exercise.
