History
The first graduating class of Findlay College, one man and one woman, received their diplomas in June 1889, just three years after beginning their studies in Old Main. Their graduation represented the culminating step of a process that started in 1881 when the Churches of God, General Conference, conceived of establishing a college in northwest Ohio.
Education
The University of Findlay has nearly 60 undergraduate programs of study leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 11 master’s degrees, and four doctorate-level degree programs.

Student services
The Division of Student Affairs is committed to creating a positive student experience. If you explore each of our areas below, you will see that we provide a wide array of programs and services intended to promote our core values, and support our commitment to developing the whole person.
Housing services
On campus you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from across the United States and around the world. You'll have easy access to Shafer Library, the Alumni Memorial Union, the cardio and recreation centers, and many other campus resources. The hundreds of programs we offer will be available in your own backyard! In your room, you will find access to wireless Internet and have cable hook-up. You'll also have access to lounges, print stations, game equipment, vending machines, and laundry facilities.
Campus life
Students at all levels (freshmen, sophomores, etc.) enjoy living in one of the University's eight residence halls. The residence halls are a great way for students to build communities, become comfortable with living away from home and be close to campus activities and their classes.
Sports facilities
The University of Findlay athletic department is excited to announce that Croy Gymnasium, built on campus in 1969, will receive another upgrade this summer. This portion of the gym's renovation involves a complete redesign of the court to match last year's project which introduced grey on the gym walls as well as black bleachers, with a bright orange reserve section, and new signage. The new court installation will begin on May 16 and is scheduled to be completed in June.
Student clubs
A well balanced college career includes extracurricular involvement as well as classroom and laboratory work. You will have many opportunities to join social and honorary fraternities, sororities and clubs; participate in intercollegiate and recreational sports; the Findlay bands and musical organizations; and a number of honorary societies.
The University of Findlay's College of Education is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). NCATE and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) consolidated to form CAEP. The mission of both NCATE and CAEP is accountability and improvement of educator preparation. The accreditation process ensures rigorous standards for educator preparation programs have been met and that the institution is accountable for providing continuous evidence of meeting these standards.
