About

History

At the request of Bishop Hickey of Rochester, five Sisters of St. Joseph — with newly-minted Ph.D.’s that included graduate study at Oxford University and the Sorbonne — founded Nazareth College in 1924. Committed to academic excellence, these pioneering women inspired the first class of 25 young women to stretch to their potential.

Education

The coeducational, religiously independent, classic campus in a charming suburb of Rochester, N.Y., challenges and supports 2,300 undergrads and 700 graduate students. Nazareth is recognized nationally for its Fulbright global student scholars and commitment to civic engagement.

Career

Career Coaching is part of the Center for Life’s Work at Nazareth.

Services

Student services

All students are eligible for an initial consultation with a Counseling Services therapist, and based upon that conversation the clinician and student will work together to find a course of action that best suits the student's needs.

Housing services

Student Accessibility Services ensures students with temporary and permanent disabilities have equal access to educational opportunities across campus. We coordinate appropriate accommodations and support services for students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our office advocates, counsels, and connects students with campus and community resources.

We currently house over a quarter of a million books, 45,000 print volumes and over 137,000 electronic resources, in addition to a variety of special collections. Additionally, there are a wide variety of services and departments available to support research needs. There are a variety of places to study, relax and explore.

Medical services

Health Services provides a full array of Primary Care services via virtual telemedicine or in-person visits.
