Heidelberg is a student-centered university in Tiffin, Ohio. Since our founding in 1850, we’ve remained a welcoming, enthusiastic community dedicated to helping our students live rich and fulfilling lives, personally and professionally.
Heidelberg College was founded in 1850 by members of the German Reformed Church who named it after the Heidelberg Catechism of 1563. Seeking to minister to the German population of Ohio, the Revs. Reuben and Jeremiah H. Good established a church-affiliated institution staffed by a largely theologically trained faculty.

Research
Research is a critical component of a college education that improves your critical thinking, writing, and professional skills. That’s why it’s part of the Heidelberg experience. You’ll work one-on-one with professors who help you through the steps of conducting research, analyzing results, writing papers, and getting it all published.
The Heidelberg community supports and celebrates research in several ways including our annual Student Research Conference, senior honors projects, and unique research opportunities such as our cadaver lab, animal lab, and the National Center for Water Quality Research.

Medical studies are great, with a lot of dedicated professionals. Classes are mostly good and are very patient-oriented, which is very helpful for the clinical part of the studies. There are a lot of student associations are generally speaking, the atmosphere is pretty welcoming.

Molecular Biology: Challenging but Rewarding
The Molecular Biology course at Heidelberg University was demanding but incredibly rewarding. The lab sessions were particularly engaging and helped me apply the theoretical concepts learned in class. The professors passion for the subject was inspiring, though some of the lecture materials could have been better organized.
