History

From its experimental beginnings in 1968, the College has matured into a regional institution of higher education that works to prepare its graduates to serve the world through their character and leadership.

Research

The Research Foundation at SUNY Old Westbury assists interested faculty and staff members in the pursuit and management of grant and award opportunities. Our campus Research Foundation is organized into two separate offices, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the Grants Management Office.

Student services

SUNY Old Westbury and the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (OSSD) are committed to providing a supportive and academically challenging environment for all undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who attend the College.  The College does not have a specially designed program for students with disabilities, but instead offers an array of support services and accommodations that are coordinated by the OSSD.

Library services

In support of the College’s mission and vision, the library contributes to and supports scholarship, curriculum, and learners by providing access to information resources to promote research, academic success, and lifelong learning.  Information resources are broadly defined to include popular, scholarly, discursive, creative, auditory, tactile, etc., material delivered by a variety of media.

Medical services

The Student Health Center pursues its mission to promote and encourage wellness to ensure students realize their optimum physical, emotional, intellectual, social and occupational well-being. The Health Center is open to all registered students of the College. 

Campus life

The Woodlands Residence Halls are a collection of five buildings constructed along a series of courtyards. All first-year Freshman and Transfer students are housed in Woodlands 1 and 2. Returning upper-class students are placed in the remaining Woodland Halls.
