Southern Wesleyan University

History

Southern Wesleyan University was originally established in 1906 as the Wesleyan Methodist Bible Institute whose mission was to develop Christian character in its students while giving thorough intellectual training.

Education

We believe that every individual has a God given purpose, brought to fruition by the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit and the challenge of scholarship. As we participate in a consecrated community of learners we are continuously transformed into the image of Christ both individually and corporately.

Career

The Career Services office has compiled a summary of career outcomes information. These summaries are based on surveys conducted across regular intervals throughout the year, and we use this information to identify ways to improve our job search services for graduating students and alumni.

Student services

SWU Student Activities (SWUSA) is the primary student programming body for the university. SWUSA plans various types of student events throughout each semester.

Housing services

The college experience is about learning and growing, and we recognize not all of that goes on in the classroom. That is why Residence Life at Southern Wesleyan University focuses on fostering intentional community and holistic personal and social development in a Christ-centered environment.
