A campus you can feel good about. You’ll find no more beautiful setting to stroll between classes than the NSU campus. With its mix of historic buildings and modern facilities, the park-like campus is considered one of the most beautiful in the Midwest. In the last five years, we’ve invested $36 million in campus improvements. And the buildings and grounds are meticulously maintained year-round. In addition to the physical beauty, our campus surrounds you with a sense of security. We are dedicated to the safety of our students and faculty. And it shows in the extremely low crime rate. Moreover, downtown Aberdeen is just a short walk from NSU.
Exercise is good for the body and the mind. Northern students, faculty and staff can get their exercise at the Student Recreation Center in Dacotah Hall.
A variety of wellness classes are available, in which all students may participate free of charge.
The center also is home to NSU's intramural activities.
The center was established in 2006 and is funded entirely by student activity fees. The more than 3,500-square-foot facility includes a gymnasium, dance studio and aerobic room.
The NSU Student Association welcomes all Northern students. If you enjoy student government and think that Student Association is something you would be interested in, then you can join. We elect a president, vice president and senators every April for the following school year.?
