About
History
In 1911, Bethany Ladies College opened with forty-four students and four faculty members, and a mission to educate young women. In 1927 the Norwegian Synod, later known as the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), purchased the college. The ELS operated the school as a co-educational high school and junior college until 1969, when the high school department was closed.

The purpose of the Student Senate is to represent the students in all matters of concern to the student body and to serve as a liaison between the students, faculty, staff and administration. It is actively involved in sponsoring a variety of social activities and convocations.

With approximately 70% of our students living on campus, you'll find that residential life at Bethany is an essential part of a fulfilling collegiate experience. Living on campus is all about the people you meet and the time spent with friends both in and out of your dorms and apartments.
