History

Founded in 1879, CCAD is one of the oldest private, nonprofit art and design colleges in the United States and, in 2019, the college is celebrating 140 years of creative excellence.

Education

CCAD offers 12 BFA programs and two master’s programs in art and design that produce graduates equipped to shape culture and business at the highest level.

Housing services

CCAD has two on-campus residence halls: Schottenstein Residence Hall and Design Square Apartments. They're both open 24 hours a day during normal college operations and are supervised by desk assistants, CCAD security officers, and a resident advisor.

On-campus CCAD housing is led by the Director of Residence Life and Housing. One fulltime professional staff member, the Residential Community Coordinator lives on campus. 14 Resident Advisors work to build community, connect residents to resources, and ensure the safety and security of all residents in the buildings.

Library services

Packard Library has quick access to a huge variety of books, electronic resources, magazines, journals, movies, digital images and many more sources to start your creative projects and keep them going.Whether it’s for class research or a personal interest, the library and its staff are here to help you find what you need when inspiration strikes.

ICT services

CCAD has all the cutting-edge tech tools you'll need to turn your creative dreams into reality. Our computer labs are loaded with the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard software. Plus, we've got 3D printers, laser-cutting tools and plenty of 21-inch Cintiq tablets for you to draw on.

Campus life

Sports facilities

CCAD has two fitness centers on campus. The main fitness center, open to all students and employees, is located on the first floor of the Schottenstein Residence Hall. The second center is on the first floor of the Design Square Apartments and is exclusively available to its residents.

In addition to the fitness centers, CCAD has other organized exercise opportunities for you to get involved in. Think soccer, basketball, dodgeball, yoga and zumba. If you’re interested, contact the Student Involvement and Orientation Office for details and schedules.

Student clubs

CCAD’s Student Government Association is a group of elected students from all years and majors representing the voice of our student body. The association works to enhance your campus experience all year long and ensures that you'll have a ton of options for fun and learning outside the classroom. Want to get involved? The Student Government Association meets every Monday morning and is open to our entire CCAD community.
