The Office of Career Services and Internships supports students and alumni in the development and achievement of career decisions and goals. The University is dedicated to providing resources to enhance students’ knowledge in the areas of career exploration, job search skills, and information on employment and internship opportunities.
The staff of the Counseling Center views counseling as another form of learning where students are able to learn more effective means of resolving concerns and developing strategies for achieving personal and professional goals. Counseling can assist those who are experiencing various personal problems and difficulties. Some of the concerns commonly addressed include adjustment to college, relationships, stress, depression, loneliness, anxiety, and self-esteem. If student needs are better served by other resources, referrals will be made to an appropriate community resource.
All freshmen are required to either live on-campus or complete an off-campus waiver request. A student may petition for a waiver for one of the following caveats:
The student is 23 years of age
The student is married, requiring a copy of marriage certificate
The student has children or is with child
The student is living with parent/guardian/immediate family member within thirty (30) driving miles from the school
The Vise Library staff offers individual and group instruction on the use of the library catalog and the many electronic databases that are available. This instruction lasts approximately 30 minutes and familiarizes students and faculty on how to search for books and articles.
If you are experiencing a technology problem, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org describing the problem in as much detail as possible.
