Algonquin’s organizational philosophy is defined by its mission, vision and core values. The following are intended to serve as points of inspiration, carefully articulating our purpose.
The Ontario College system was founded as “a new level and type of education to serve those parts of the population whose needs were not met by the existing education system. Focused mainly on career-oriented education, colleges would create a system which would be a coherent whole”. (Ontario Dept. of Education, Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Basic Documents, 1967)

Accreditation
The Ottawa Accreditation Committee has made the Accreditation Manual document available online through the links below. The Manual EQRS posted at the bottom of this page will allow you to enter your scores from the manual into an Excel spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will calculate the scores from the manual for you. Practical and career focused
Algonquin College is a focused post secondary institute that does a strong job preparing students for the job market. The Business Marketing programme is practical and directly linked to real workplace expectations, which makes the learning feel relevant and worthwhile. The courses provide in depth knowledge while also encouraging applied skills, so you are not just learning theory but understanding how to use it. Overall, I feel the college delivers good value and sets students up with a solid foundation for their future careers.

Smaller classes were the best part
Decent school, interesting classes, good professors. Limited parking can be a hassle. Enjoyed the smaller classes, nice having professors often know you by name. Really enjoyed it my first couple years. I think the delivery style could definitely use some work in certain areas.
