Founded in 1899 by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, the College of Saint Elizabeth has a strong tradition of concern for the poor, for developing leadership in a spirit of service and social responsibility, and a commitment to the promotion of women as full partners in society.

The library is both a physical place and a 24/7 digital toolkit.The library occupies the main floor – where you'll find the checkout desk, the research help desk, and our collections of encyclopedias and print periodicals – and much of the upper level, where our book collection lives.
The CSE health service promotes comprehensive health and wellness, which includes health promotion, disease prevention, treatment for illness and injuries, consultations and collaboration with other healthcare professionals, and referrals to appropriate healthcare resources.
The College was included in the first published list of accredited colleges issued by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education – an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation – in 1921, and it has continuously maintained such accreditation with the most recent re-affirmation in 2016.
