Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. 

History

Located just outside of Seattle, WA, Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) was founded in 1949, and is the only public institute of technology in the state of Washington. LWTech offers eight applied bachelor’s degrees, 43 associate degrees, and 91 professional certificates in 42 areas of study, including STEM-focused programs in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Housing services

All dining options at Lake Washington Institute of Technology are located in the East (Commons) Building. LWTech students, staff & faculty, and community members in Kirkland and surrounding areas, have several choices on campus for snacks and meals. Nutritious, quality food service is available in the cafeteria, offering well-balanced entrées daily as well as beverages and snacks.

Library services

The bookstore at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is located on the Kirkland campus, just outside of Seattle, Washington. The LWTech Bookstore is a dependable source for all of your textbooks, course materials, school supplies, great gifts, tasty snacks, and LWTech-imprinted apparel & clothing, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and more.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) provides IT services and help for LWTech students and employees.

Campus life

    The LWTech Meditation Room is a designated meditation space for the campus community, located in the Technology Center, T118. The room was established through the partnership between the Associated Student Government and LWTech. The space is dedicated for those in need of a quiet room on campus to engage in meditation, prayer, or silent reflection. It is intended to be a safe and inclusive environment. Usage of the Meditation Room is on a first-come, first-served basis, and only LWTech students, staff, and faculty are eligible to use the room during designated, open hours. 

Sports facilities

The Fitness Center at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is open to LWTech students, faculty, staff, and employees. The LWTech gym includes cardiovascular equipment, weight training equipment, stability balls, medicine balls, stretching area, and a group exercise room.

Amenities include locker rooms with hot showers, towel service, and optional locker rentals. The Fitness Center is located on the first floor of the East Building across from the bookstore. Stop by for a tour if you're interested in becoming a member! 

Student clubs

    Student life is at the heart of LWTech's Student Programs office. Being involved in your college experience, meeting new people, making connections, and developing life-long skills are all things that increase your success. Take time to notice all the opportunities that exist with your education. Join a student community, apply for a position in student government or with the program team, or attend a campus activity! We also welcome your suggestions for campus events.
