Founded in 1925 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Mount Saint Mary’s University has two exceptionally beautiful campuses in Los Angeles. The Chalon Campus is located on a hill above Brentwood with expansive views overlooking the Pacific Ocean and West Los Angeles.
The Biological Sciences Department at MSMU is the second largest undergraduate department on campus and offers a strong academic program .
The mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is to enhance the emotional growth and academic success of students by promoting balanced lifestyles, positive self-esteem and essential life skills with an emphasis on the development of the whole person. CPS is staffed by licensed psychologists, postdoctoral fellows, and advanced doctoral interns. At CPS we provide psychological counseling services and psycho-educational programs for students. Referrals and emergency services are also provided by the office. In counseling, students can discuss issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and other personal concerns.
The primary emphasis of Residence Life is to facilitate close personal relationships between students of many cultural backgrounds and experiences such that we foster the formation of personal values and integrity. We provide a comfortable living environment to enhance residents' educational pursuits and opportunities for interaction and celebration to enable residents to establish their own spirit of community and to participate in the many enriching programs and the community offered by Mount Saint Mary's University.
Mount Saint Mary's University Libraries have approximately 180,000 circulating print volumes available. Patrons also have access to over 380,000 e-books and 39,000 e-journals through over 200 databases. Current students, faculty, and staff may access these materials from off campus with a valid library barcode.
In Student Health Services, emphasis is placed on preventive medicine and on positive health practices which will become a part of each student's lifestyle. Programs designed to assist students in developing values and skills related to achieving a high level of health are presented each semester.

Resident students can have it all-a home away from home, a great experience making new friends in the residence halls, proximity to computers and the library and the chance to hang out with fellow scholars and sisters. Commuter students are a viable part of campus life, we engage and connect them to the Mount through the Commuter Mentor Program, commuter social programming, Commuter Connection Organization and services specifically designed to meet their needs.
The Sports & Wellness Department contributes to the Mount experience by providing fitness & recreation programs and services which foster self-discovery, learning, engagement and an appreciation for personal wellness.
