Associated with the Christian Reformed Church, Dordt was founded in 1955 and welcomes all students who are interested in a biblical, Christ-centered education.
There are more than 40 majors and 11 pre-professional programs of study. Degrees include two-year associate of arts and associate of science, four-year bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of social work, bachelor of science in engineering and in nursing, and a master of education degree.

Dordt College employs students in various positions on campus. Information concerning on and off-campus positions may be received from the director of financial aid. The college cooperates with local merchants, business managers, and farmers in distributing information to all students about job openings and temporary employment.
The John and Louise Hulst Library provides space for more than 100,000 volumes and flexible seating for 300 students. The facility includes the Teaching Resource Center, the Academic Skills Center, reading areas, conference rooms, the college's historical archives, and staff offices.
On-campus medical care: A registered nurse is on staff daily to treat a variety of medical concerns; a Nurse Practitioner is available for a limited number of hours each week. Visits are free of charge; a fee is incurred for purchase of medications or when the services of an outside laboratory are utilized. Please see the Medical Services page for more information.
Dordt’s residential campus plays an important role in the vibrant campus culture. Dordt’s four residence halls and eight apartment complexes house 89% of the student body. We know your experience outside of the classroom is a vital element for success in your academic pursuits. So, we are committed to doing all we can to make each day in the residence halls and campus apartments the best that it can be academically, socially, and spiritually.
Dordt is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) as a four-year bachelor-degree-granting institution. Our accreditation dates from 1971, with the most recent renewal in 2012 and the next renewal visit scheduled for 2022-23. In 1994, Dordt also gained approval from HLC to offer a graduate program, leading to the Master of Education degree. Dordt also has accredited programs in nursing, education, social work, and engineering.
