In 2008, Dr. Sohn founded IGlobal University to provide the most innovative and effective education to people around the world, without sacrificing affordability.
To achieve his founding vision, he established a few strategic goals with important milestones, including:

IGU offers five (5) accredited programs: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), and English as a Second Language (ESL) Programs. Our tuition rates for graduate programs are very affordable and competitive. In addition, many types of scholarships, financial assistance, and on-campus employment opportunities are available to qualified students.

IGU executives, administrative staff, and faculty work harmoniously with the students. They show compassion and take pride in their work as IGU is committed to providing a wide range of outstanding student services:
The Admissions administrative staff provides valuable guidance to prospective students in regard to admission requirements for each program, and academic system. The staff can also assist the students in securing the needed documents to complete the admission process.
Housing services
IGU does not provide any housing services, however, the university works with all incoming student to ensure they have the resources they need to find local housing.
Library services
The Learning Resources Center’s Library contains books, academic journals, newspapers, reports, e-journals, through LIRN. Currently, students have access to 66 databases and over 170,000 electronic books through LIRN. Additionally, many electronic reports are also accessible through the Library’s Integrated Library System OPAC (online public access catalog).

- IGU is certified to operate in Virginia by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
- IGU is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) to award MBA, MSIT, BBA, and BSIT degrees both on ground and online.
- Due to its national accreditation status, IGU is also been recognized by the United States department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- IGU is certified by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to issue Form I-20 to admit international students.
