University of Chester

Multiple locations
The University of Chester provides a flexible range of postgraduate courses. In today’s rapidly changing world our postgraduate qualifications can provide valuable career and personal development opportunities and help you build on your experience and current skills. With 20,000 students from 130 countries worldwide, Chester provides a diverse, vibrant and safe location for international students.

The University of Chester has been making history since 1839, when it was founded by such pioneers as the great 19th-century prime ministers, William Gladstone and the Earl of Derby, and a former Archbishop of Canterbury.

Education qualifications remain significant and are now a fraction of the 420 course combinations on offer. In the 20th Century, the institution steadily expanded its student numbers and the variety and nature of its courses, which range from Animation to Zoo Management.

As well as undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, a new range of foundation degrees and apprenticeship degrees combines conventional university study with learning at work.

The University of Chester is committed to the continued development of excellence in research and innovation. The research strengths range across the arts and humanities, business, leadership and management, education, health and social care, and the natural and social sciences.

The portfolio contains both work that is at the leading edge of its subject discipline and research which brings about changes to policy, practice and services which benefit the economic, social and cultural well-being of our region and the wider community.

The graduate employment rate is 95.6% (DLHE). Our Careers and Employability Team attach the utmost importance to securing excellent employment prospects for our international graduates. We will provide you with a range of opportunities to help you to gain the experience, skills and knowledge that you need to succeed during your time at university and beyond. You will also be supported by information, advice and guidance services which have been nationally commended.

Student clubs

Chester’s Students’ Union (CSU) is responsible for voicing your ideas and issues both inside and outside of the University. Run by students that are elected by you, and assisted by permanent staff, it offers the highest level of support and enrichment throughout your University life.

An accredited course is one which has been approved by a professional body. Accredited courses provide students with a guarantee of quality and can count towards professional qualifications or registration with a professional body. This not only benefits a student’s career but can also be a legal requirement in some professions.
