Now that you know more about the medicine we teach and practice, it’s important to know about our long history in the Valley of the Sun providing education and care for those looking for integrative care.  From our inception, we've blended new ways of learning and teaching with timeless principles of naturopathic and conventional medicine.

At SCNM, they take a different approach to research. The faculty and students are putting the science behind naturopathic therapies and creating new treatments for therapeutic care. This work is often performed in collaboration with other institutions so as to improve integration of naturopathic medicine in a larger health arena.

Some of the things that set naturopathic medicine apart is the growing awareness that doctors not only heal, but also teach and advocate for their patients. Naturopathic doctors are innovators in healthcare, as they focus on patient-centered care with a strong emphasis on preventive care, nutritional education, natural treatments and the ability to empower patients to take their health into their own hands.
