In 1974, under the leadership of Ivan C. Howard, the founding president, a group of interested persons representing historic Methodism participated in the establishment of a theological seminary committed to graduate-level educational ministry in the Deep South.

Wesley offers multiple options for single students relocating to Wesley's campus for full-time study. Permanent residents must be enrolled in a minimum of 7 credit hours each fall and spring semester to be eligible to reside on campus, and in the New Residence Hall, students must be enrolled in 4 credits during summer terms as well.
As its mission, the library supports teaching, learning, and critical inquiry at the WTS in service to the seminary's educational ministry and mission. We believe that a theology library is not a storehouse of information, but a place to enter into dialogue with the vast treasury of the Christian theological tradition, and we strive to be your partner in theological education and research.
American University’s RecFit has introduced a new membership program, which includes the Wesley Community called, Friends of American University Membership. Membership includes access to the Jacobs Fitness Center, Cassell Fitness Center, recreational swim in the Reeves Aquatic Center, and open court in Bender Arena. The cost of this membership is $191/semester (Semesters run January-April, May-August, September – December).
Wesley Biblical Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and licensed by the State of Mississippi to offer graduate-level biblical and theological education.
