History
The institute was established as Tallaght Regional Technical College, in 1992, at that time the final new Regional Technical College opened in Ireland. It was built on lands donated to the Irish government by the Dominicans in Tallaght, for Educational use. Qualifications were accredited by the NCEA.
Research
Research is a core activity for the Institute, informing best practice in a broad range of activities including education, training, creativity and the pursuit of ground-breaking developments for the benefit of all kinds of Industry, Enterprise and the Community.
