From its humble beginnings in 1933 with 41 students in a building next to Palm Beach High School, Palm Beach State College has grown to become the largest institution of higher education in Palm Beach County. Currently serving 49,000 students annually, the College offers classes at five campuses and online.
Palm Beach State College now offers bachelor's and associate degrees, professional certificates, workforce development and lifelong learning.
The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IRE) forms a vital part of Palm Beach State College's accountability and planning efforts at the District-wide level. Serving under Academic Affairs, IRE acts as Palm Beach State's institutional research and strategic planning office. The Office's responsibilities reach across many areas of the College.
Research and Data Services
Institutional Research & Effectiveness has primary responsibility for the preparation of delivery of internal data reports. Panorama, the College's annual student enrollment report, is produced in IRE, and it is available to all faculty and staff upon request.

The PBSC Career Centers are committed to educating and assisting students in developing, evaluating and implementing career plans.
The Career Center provides opportunities for employers to hire PBSC students and alumni as well as free job postings, job fairs, on-campus recruiting, and partnership opportunities.
Resources & Services
Students, faculty and staff from Palm Beach State at Boca Raton have library privileges at both Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton) and Palm Beach State College's libraries.
Palm Beach State College participates in intercollegiate men's baseball, men and women’s basketball, and women's softball and volleyball. Scholarships are available in all sports for those student athletes who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency in their sport and academic achievement.
Palm Beach State College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate and baccalaureate degrees.
Accreditation also has been granted by professional organizations for certain specific programs.
