History
In 1916, our doors opened in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with 11 students and a mandate to train veterans returning from the First World War. Over the years, we’ve matched community needs — as a hospital during the Spanish Flu pandemic and as a Royal Canadian Air Force Wireless Training School during the Second World War.

One of Canada's top applied-research colleges, SAIT has 50,000 square feet of specialized research labs and facilities and full-time research staff who are solely dedicated to providing the services organizations need to take their products from concept to prototype.

Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, a fully accredited public polytechnic in the heart of Calgary, Alberta, has over 90 years of experience in training for careers. Known as Canada’s Premier Polytechnic, at their high-tech campus they are in the business of training people to enter the world of work. An education at SAIT is hands-on and interactive. Not only will you learn how to do things, you’ll actually do them and see how the skills and knowledge you develop will apply in the “real world”.
