History

  • Since its founding over 50 years ago, NAIT has consistently evolved to meet the needs of students and industry in a province that’s the engine of Canada’s economy.
  • From the first class of 29 communication electrician apprentices in 1962, to today’s current enrolment of 40,000 students and apprentices, NAIT continues to the meet Alberta’s needs – for today and the future.

Education

  • Degrees - NAIT offers a number of business and applied science and technology degrees accredited by Alberta Advanced Education.
  • Diplomas & Certificates - These credit programs take 1 or 2 years and lead to government approved andindustry-recognized credentials.
  • Apprenticeship Training - Hands-on and expert-led apprenticeship and industry training for skilled trades and technology professionals.
  • Continuing Education - Upgrade your academic prerequisites, advance or pivot your career, or learn something new and interesting.

The International Centre provides a safe welcoming place for international students to build community, connect with peers and student service providers and engage in intercultural learning.

Housing services

NAIT is pleased to offer the opportunity for NAIT students to live at the University of Alberta campus or the MacEwan University residence while studying at NAIT for the academic year. 

Library services

The NAIT Library is a hub of learning, exploring, and creating. We support the NAIT community through access to resources, collaborative and exploratory spaces, cutting edge technology, and programming that supports academic excellence and life-long learning. 

Medical services

  • Health Services is a team of healthcare professionals and support staff that strive to provide friendly, accessible services to the NAIT community.  
  • We offer a variety of services to all students and staff. In the event of illness or injury, nurses are available to provide assessment and care.

Sports facilities

  • Arena NAIT’s NHL-sized multipurpose arena is home to our amazing Ooks athletic teams! Accommodating 1300 patrons and surrounded by a 188 metre walking/running track, the space hosts all types of sports and events!
  • NAIT’s Fitness Weight Centre houses a variety of strength training and cardio equipment and has a sauna, showers, washrooms and locker rentals available for you to use. 
  • Gymnasium - During open gym hours, students can drop in for volleyball, basketball, badminton and more!
