History
As one of the entities within the Sunway Education Group, Sunway University has rapidly grown into a leading brand name in Malaysia’s higher education sector, gaining a name for itself as a high-quality private, not-for-profit institution. Sunway University was established in 2004 as Sunway University College. The Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education upgraded it to full university status in January 2011, when it became Sunway University.
Education
Our academic programmes include a broad range of diplomas, bachelors' degrees, masters' degrees, and doctoral degrees. We also offer some short courses. All of our programmes have been designed to meet industry needs and give optimal employment or further study opportunities. Many of our degree programmes also lead to degrees of Lancaster University, UK (please refer to the highlighted programmes). Some programmes also include preparation for the professional exams of certain professional bodies or exemptions from such exams for professional body recognition.
Research
Our research enables us to contribute to the economic and social development of the nation and ensures that our academic staff keep abreast of the latest developments in their fields and also use their research to inform their teaching. We have a number of research collaborations with leading international universities including joint research centres. We welcome enquiries from researchers interested in joining us or collaborating with us, and also welcome applicants for research masters degrees or PhD study with our professors and research centres (see our Programmes page for details on our current masters and PhD programmes).

The Library serves Sunway University, Sunway College KL, Cordon Bleu within the Sunway Campus. It also provides services to staff and higher level students of Sunway International School. Reciprocal borrowing privileges to Monash University Malaysia Library are extended to registered staff and students.
Campus life
Occupying 22 acres of prime land in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, the campus is fully equipped with academic, hostel and sports facilities and is amongst the largest and most modern private institutions in Malaysia.
Our campus comes complete with wireless access coverage (Wi-Fi) available 24-hours per day which covers classrooms, lecture halls, cafeteria, library, concourse and open areas that are conducive for student discussions, communications, eLearning and working on course assignments.Sunway University Overview

Excellent Facilities And Food Variety
I am a psychology degree student in Sunway University at Bandar Sunway. The study environment and facilities are top notch with good location and easy accessible to other places through BRT or canopy walk. Lecturers there are kind and friendly! There are many food options as well in campus and around campus. As a vegetarian myself, I find it easy to find vegetarian options in and around campus, not a problem.
Convenient sunway bridge access
Good university. Definitely recommended for the study of undergraduate, or postgraduate programmes. Good environment. Helpful lecturers. Convenient location near to Sunway pyramid. Can walk from the mall to the university by using sky bridge. The surrounding area is also well-equipped with useful facilities.
Affordable weekend postgrad path
The fees of part time post graduate programmes are affordable. Friendly environment to pursue the study during weekend. The only shortfall is most of the activities are conducted on working days which it's a challenge for working adults to attend
