History

Since its inception in 1986, UCSI University has been committed to further the discovery and celebration of knowledge. As one of Malaysia’s first private universities, UCSI University has long impacted the national higher education landscape and the University continues to do so with its wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.  

Education

Our faculties, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to meet student needs offer a wide spectrum of academic programmes, ranging from Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering and Architecture to Music, Multimedia, Education, Liberal Arts and Hospitality. 

Research

The University’s academic staff are at the forefront of their disciplines and their views are highly sought after on major issues; from business to political science. Many of our academics have extensive experience working overseas and some play advisory roles in public bodies and various committees.

Career

Many of our alumni have gone on to achieve great things in life – from business to science and the performing arts. Most remain in close contact and the University is gratified to play a role in grooming movers and shakers that define today’s – and tomorrow’s – world. 

Student services

The UCSI Student Council is the student representative organization consisting of members from various majors and backgrounds – all of whom are dedicated to being the voice of the students while acting as a bridge between the students and the university management.

Among the many functions of the Student Council, the most important include enhancing students’ rights, opportunities and general experience for each and every student regardless of where they are from.

We seek to provide equal opportunities in event organization, the promotion of positive learning and ensuring a comfortable learning environment for all students.

Housing services

There are two options for UCSI University accommodations:

On-campus Accommodation:

  • Our Residential Halls provide twin – sharing rooms at block E & D. Limited units of single room with en-suite bathroom are available at Block E. The Hall segregated into male & female quarters and equipped with a common visiting area for family and friends.

Off-campus Accommodation:

  • Angkasa Condominium is a popular and convenient off-campus accommodations for UCSI University students. It offers both sharing and single room with the choice of with or without air-condition. There is a 24-hour security service to ensure the safety of students and to safeguard the premises.

Library services

The UCSI University Library is a five-storey building which currently holds about 50,000 volumes of text and reference books, printed journals, music scores and audio-visual items for students to conduct their self-directed researches and studies for their course studies.

ICT services

  • Workstations with internet facilities and access to the e-mail, the library's online catalogues, and other sources of information during the library operational hours are available for free.
  • CD-ROMs, audio CDs and videocassettes are available as supplementary references.

Medical services

For medical services, the Laurent Bleu Skin Science Centre is where you want to head to. Laurent Bleu stands out as a centre of excellence for skin science, regenerative medicine, aesthetics and wellness for UCSI students, staff and the general public.

Campus life

UCSI University has three campuses:

Kuala Lumpur Campus:

  • The campus is located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur with convenient access to numerous facilities including banks, restaurants, transportation services, entertainment, and accommodation.

Kuching Campus:

  • Situated in Kuching, Sarawak, this campus provides a dynamic and stimulating environment in which to study hospitality, tourism, events management, retailing, industrial relations and international business. 

Springhill (Port Dickson) Campus:

  • This campus is located adjacent with UCSI Hospital and is designed to be a leading praxis centre of education, especially in the field of medicine and health sciences.

Sports facilities

Kuching campus:

  • Students and staff may benefit from the well-equipped gymnasium free of charge.
  • Located at the 5th floor of the UCSI Hotel premises, the swimming pool offers another leisure activity for both students and staff.

Student clubs

UCSI University has a considerable number of student clubs and associations. Among these are: the Adventure Club, the Chinese Cultural Society, the Debate Club, the English Language Student Association, the ICAD Fashion Clubs, the International Student Association, and the UCSI Badminton Club, UCSI Dance Club and UCSI Basketball Club.
